This big band arrangement of Nature Boy pays homage to the well-known version performed and recorded by Kurt Elling and Laurence Hobgood. I have seen them perform live several times and was lucky enough to have an inspiring 1-on-1 lesson with Laurence Hobgood, so of course I wanted to bring these experiences to life by creating this arrangement for big band.

This arrangement faithfully refers to many exciting melodic and harmonic moments from several versions of their performances, which have been expanded in their orchestration to make use of the power and colour of the big band.
